Upper Rogue Pop Warner Football

It has been a busy football season for the Upper Rogue Pop Warner Eagles and us at Rogue Studios.  Six Eagle teams in all, kept us pretty busy capturing all the tackles, catches and touchdowns of these great kids.  We love to be able to get down there on the sidelines and in the middle of the action to capture many of those moments that are hard to see from the stands. We received many kind words and "thank yous" from the parents for capturing moments of there children that will last a lifetime.

Now that the season has come to an end we have put together some slide shows of all the teams, showcasing some of the highlights of the season.

Southern Oregon Firefighters Memorial Rally

Last weekend we had the pleasure of being a part of the Southern Oregon Firefighters Memorial Rally. This was a great event and a good time was had by all.
Firefighters from all over the valley came in remembrance of those that have given there lives to protect our well being.
Thanks again to those brave men and women and we remember you.

Another Great Car Show

We have been a part of the Aaron Lambert Memorial Car Show since its first year and have had the pleasure of making some good friends along the way...
This year was a lot of fun and the show seems to get bigger and bigger each year. Big enough that next year they may have to take over a forth parking lot just to accommodate all the participants. Many kudos go out to Shawna Allen, getting some great shots of the events as well as the award winners.

It was during the first Aaron Lambert Car Show that we met Shawna, Who knew that years down the road we would be shooting the same car show as a team (Rogue Studios)

Remembering the Iron 44 Tragedy

On August 5th, 2008, a Sikorsky S-61N helicopter carrying (13 Firefighters and Crewmen) in a remote clearing deep in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest near Weaverville, Calif.
Nine of the eleven men on board lost their lives in the crash that left the Pacific Northwest and the country in shock. We were one of many families affected by this unfortunate accident. The Co-pilot of the helicopter (one of 4 survivors) was our brother.

Today we honor those brave men that lost there lives, our hearts go out to those that were left behind, and we will never forget.....

IRON 44

Watching the Sky

Its that time of year... time for some summer heat Thunder and lightning storms..

I have a huge fascination with capturing lightning photographs. Ever since I was a young boy I loved the thunder and lightning. My first ever attempts at capturing a bolt on film were not all that great. Not understanding about aperture and shutter speeds made for some interesting attempts. I just though if I held the button down long enough I would get the shot. Granted I was just a young boy, However the shots did produce some results. You could see the hint of what could very well be a bolt of lightning, but it looked as if it was high noon outside the photo was so bright.

Ever since that time I have always got that rush of excitement when I see thunderstorms on the horizon.

Now that its that time of year again, the camera and tripod are ready, batteries charged, rain gear at hand. Like a News reporter charging to the scene I'm ready to chase the lightning.

New Studio in the works

We have not made any recent posts lately due to the fact we have been very busy with our new studio build.
What was once an old semi truck shop is rapidly becoming what will be the new photo studio.
Our current progress consists of:

  • new electrical replaced and strung,
  • an elevated catwalk for taking high angle photos,
  • and currently going through the permit process before we begin insulating.

Keep checking back as we will post updates here as the build continues.

Thanks for stopping by the Rogue Studios Blog
